The Ukrainian capital, Kiev, is a city of
contrasts. A sprawling metropolis with an international population of around
three million, the city is also one of the greenest in Europe, with miles of
open botanical gardens and leafy green spaces.

Despite its charms, Kiev is yet
to establish itself as a must-see destination for travellers, and hasn’t made a
big  splash in the English-speaking
online world. But there are a number of brilliant English language resources
that are well worth checking out before, or during, a trip to the city.

Ukraine.com - a great place for general information about the country, and naturally it has
several pages dedicated to Kiev. The site is very touristy but a good place to gather general information and
ideas about where to visit.

Alissa Ambrose – an American
journalist and photographer whose blog is mainly about Kiev, although she
sometimes detours into other areas. Well worth checking out for her lively
photographs.

Kiev’s Facebook Page – a good resource for up-to-date practical information such
as info on changes to metro fares, upcoming concerts, and new venues in the
city.

Orange Revolution – a good page of pictures and comments about Kiev that will whet
your appetite for your travels.

Ukrainian Guide – brilliant and stylish website dedicated to all things Ukrainian,
with great articles and blogs on Kiev itself.

Expat Guide to Kiev – this website is meant to be used by international wanderers who are living in
Kiev, but it is worth lurking around even if you are just going for the
weekend.

Cost of Living in Kiev – a very useful resource if your shoestring budget
doesn’t stretch very far. Find out how much everything costs so that you can
budget effectively.

Kiev Travel Guide – As your Kiev travel guide, we will help you plan your travel to Kiev and suggest ways to enjoy your stay in the city.
