Kiev has experienced significant inflation in recent years and the Ukrainian capital is no longer nearly as cheap compared to Western Europe as it was just five years ago. Nevertheless it remains marginally cheaper than many West European countries for most standard goods and there are a number of locally produced goods, notably alcoholic beverages, which represent great value.
