Souvenirs

Traditional souvenirs tend to revolve around Ukraine’s folklore traditions and Cossack history. These include embroidered shirts, Cossack pipes, Hemtan’s batons, decorated eggs, beads and so forth. Then there is the entire Soviet kitsch genre, which continues to prove a hit with tourists. Other common souvenirs are Dynamo Kyiv shirts from the Adidas Store on Khreschatyk and novelty bottles of spirits, which are available everywhere. Many visitors also take advantage of local prices to buy cartons of cigarettes, which are then sold on for profit or distributed among friends as a demonstration of largesse.
