The implausible attractiveness of Ukrainian girls?
The first thing any young male visitor will notice upon arrival in Ukraine is the implausible attractiveness of the local ladies.
High heels, long hair, short skirts and skillfully applied make-up are the norm in the office and on the high street at any given time of day, while a pervasive laissez fair approach to sexual politics has helped make suggestive eye contact something of a national sport.
As far as the vast majority of Kiev expats are concerned, Ukrainian girls are quite simply the most alluring, sensationally seductive and generally impressive females on the planet – indeed, it is a subject on which most expats regard themselves as eminently expert, having spent much of their time in Ukraine dissecting and discussing it in great detail and with much enthusiasm. As the Beatles sang in ‘Back in the USSR’: “Those Ukraine girls really knock me out, they leave the West behind.”
